This new model was designed to eliminate fabric from bulking up in the front; a straight leg with the thigh area snug.
At the cutting table, both front and back legs are cut along the fabric's selvage, a straight border created by the shuttle loom on which it was woven. The shuttle carries the weft threads (left to right) between the warp threads (up and down). When it exits the threads and re-enters on a new row, this creates a selvage edge to the fabric. Because this edge is completely straight, the back and front outseams are also straight. To create shape, the inseam has to curve aggressively to compensate. What results is a "stovepipe" leg, with a light bow from the hips to the hem.

The back pockets and coin pocket are lined with the same material as the front pockets; a 7oz. Pakistani herringbone twill. Originally starch white. I dyed it with black tea, which turned it a rose-tinted cream colour.
